The Story behind Snow White

When it comes to Disney’s Snow White, we have to go all the way back to 1937 when the Disney animated film was introduced, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. It’s the story of a princess who was oppressed by her evil Step-mother and Queen.
Snow White is kept in rags and maid’s clothes as she goes about her business in the castle. One day when she’s getting some water from the castle’s well, she starts singing while making a wish at the “wishing well”.
The young princess wishes for a true love to save her from the miserable and evil Queen. As fate would have it, young Snow White’s wish is granted when the handsome Prince Charming heard her singing.
The evil Queen is outraged, and the plot thickens as the Queen plans Snow White’s demise. The Queen orders her huntsman to kill Snow White, but they dare not kill such an innocent girl. Instead, they tell her to run away to the forest and not to come back to the castle.
Here’s where the story takes a classic Disney turn as Snow White stumbles upon a cottage with a lot of tiny furniture. Of course it’s the home of the Seven Dwarfs, and they gladly take Snow White into their home.
The Queen learns about Snow White and takes matters into her own hands. She turns herself into an old hag and gives Snow White a poisoned apple. When Snow White takes a bite of the apple, she falls into a deathly sleep, and she can only be awakened by the kiss of a first love.
When Prince Charming finds the sleeping Snow White, he is heartbroken and he leans in close to give his little princess a kiss. The kiss is just what the doctor ordered as it reanimates Snow White from her death-sleep, and the two can now live happily ever after.
